Tip Tuesday: Peace Lilies Offer More than Simple Beauty

(picture from "Houseplants and their Benefits"

http://www.squidoo.com/healthy-houseplants#module13479529

"Did You Know?"
Peace Lily plants do more than just pull double duty as lovely house plants - they're beautiful in full bloom AND plain with their dark green leaves, but they also act as an air
purifier in your home, to absorb and even prevent mold spores, so a great place for them to live is in the bathroom (according to this site:)

I recently purchased a peace lily to place at the church altar in honor of some very special ladies I know! ;)  Afterwards, I put it in my office. Then while I was on vacation during July 4th, it wasn't watered for an entire week.  I thought it was a gone-er when I went back to work, but after a trimming of dead leaves and flowers plus a good dousing of water, it sprang back to life.  I'll be buying a few more of these plants, plus a few more plants referenced in this site, like Gerber Daisies, Rubber Plants, and many others.

UPDATED PIC
THESE PLANTS ARE TOUGH!
HERE'S MY PEACE LILY, AFTER A
3-DAY RE-HYDRATION PERIOD.
LIKE NEW! I'LL TELL YOU, THE
LEAVES WERE FLAT AS A PANCAKE
(BUT NOT BROWN - 'CAUSE BROWN= DEAD)
SO IF YOU HAVE ONE, DON'T GIVE UP ON IT!
WATER IT WELL AND PLACE NEAR A SUNNY WINDOW :)
