This was a really fun project!

Here is Cathy's table runner - it's awesome!
I have had the denim sewn together since
early spring. Trying to decide the materials
for the insides, which should be squares,
I cut them all in circles as well.
In frustration, I put it on the back burner....
Until I started cleaning up my craft room and
saw that I have a lot of BURLAP.
I went right to work ;)
I got the tutorial from Tole n Treasurers HERE.
I don't claim to be a great seamstress, not even good,
which is why my sewing is limited to crafting.
Cathy at Tolent Treasurers is also an awesome painter!
I plan to (way, way in the future) also do one of these
as a quilt, in both denim and khaki.
As you can see, it looks great, either
way you decide to use it - front or back.
I have more fall crafts to post soon!

Oh my...this is so cute and I love the combo of denim and burlap!!! Great project!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks harder than what I usually try to tackle but it sure is pretty. It's nice to have a few new things to use each season. Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! If my sewing machine wasn't possessed I would try that myself!
ReplyDeleteThanks Danni, actually, I had to perform "major surgery" on mine, the bobbin was acting wonky there for a few minutes, but then again, it is almost 25 years old :) maybe Santa will see his way to getting me a new one!
DeleteThat looks lovely! Thanks for linking up!

Love it! You have put in a lot of work {I'm a little stupid with my sewing machine ;-( }
ReplyDeleteLinda
Hey Linda, it's really more simple than it looks - Cathy's tutorial breaks it down so even I could follow along - except I should'a read it three times, and cut once :)
DeleteGreat job - it is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteJoAnn,
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty! Love it! I love anything with burlap. I tried to find some this weekend for my little project and Hobby Lobby was sold out. Everyone must love it! lol!
Wish I could sew.....I am going to learn! :)
Thanks for participating in Pinned it Made it Monday
Have a great Tuesday!
Blessings,
Tammy
JoAnn- this is so cute. I'm not much of a seamstress...but I think I can see how this is done. I'm going to check out the tutorial...I might try this if I get the machine going.
ReplyDeleteRight now...I'm up to my eyeballs in pumpkins!
Pat

ReplyDeleteBe blessed,
Cindi
Hi Cindi, It's pretty simple to do, it just looks more complicated that it really is. Give it a try :)
DeleteLove it! I made a baby blanket like that and it took forever, raw edge must go much faster that flipping circles right side out. Thanks for sharing at what's cluckin
ReplyDeleteHey! thanks for commenting. I figured since this was a runner and not likely to get handled a lot, raw edge was ok, but I think pinking the edges would have been pretty, then use a straight stitch instead of the zig zag.
DeleteOh, I love it! Thanks for sharing at the Crafty Cornucopia Challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!! I wish I had the patience to sew!
ReplyDeleteHi Morena! I'm not the best sewer so it's a pretty easy project - give it a try one afternoon ;-)
