I made this simple apron as a gift to my daughter's
I traced the basic shape, on the fold,
from an apron of my daughter-in law's.
Just for kicks, I decided to cut the pockets
on the diagonal. I think it adds a bit of interest.
Mark pocket placements with pins...
I serged all raw sides of the pockets...
Nope, I don't have one of those super nice
"sew'n serge at the same time" machines...
"Dear Santa..."
Pocket tops pressed under and stitched down;
back to the ironing board to press under
the other three sides then top stitched
the pockets to the apron.
I was happy with how the diagonal placement
looked, all lined up and professional-like ;)
I couldn't find a solid color
bias tape that matched the colors in the material,
which meant 'making my own',
cutting 2 1/2 inch strips, sewn together end to end,
pressed in half, then pressing under the edges...
It turned out really nice.

for my sewing machine.
So, now you know what I'm asking Santa for
next Christmas :)
Now my daughter wants one,
with strawberries and polka dots:)
