Tip Tuesday: Use Lint Roller as Furniture Dust Cleaner

Need to tidy up quickly before company arrives?
Tired of dragging out and lugging around
"the most wonderful multi-cleaner with all the attachments a woman could EVER want!" machine?

AKA "the vacuum"and swapping all those attachments to suck up the dust, lint and hair off the furniture? and that lovely quilt in your guest bedroom...fabric lamp shades? curtains? the CURTAINS!! Tired of pulling them  OUT of the vacuum tube they've been sucked into???
Well, then don't! Just use your lint roller :)
Roll all over the furniture tops, backs, seats, and arm rests
... don't forget your fabric lamp shades...
you'll be UGH-mazed at what the vac misses because it's
to cumbersome to reach certain areas or it's something you just can't quickly toss into the dryer,
or maybe it's simply because you're not an octopus
with eight arms to hold everything just right
so's it don't get sucked down into never-never land.

I'll spare you the "results" of my late night
cleaning spree. And being I'm on a recycle - upcycle earth friendly kick, I'm trying to think of something to do with all those dirty sticky thing-ys other than fire starters...
but, I got nothing.

Happy Cleaning, Y'all!
JoAnn

  1. Hi JoAnne, thanks for stopping by. I'm originally from Upstate NY, went to school in Richmond VA and moved to Maine with my husband where we had our four children. We just now settled in Orlando - getting used to these "warm" winters! I'm brand new to blogging, just wanted to share ideas and meet new people. Thanks for joining, love your site:)

  3. What a great idea for the lampshades. But I'm lucky if the vacuum gets rolled out, let alone that I do that much detailed cleaning! You're good.
    Hugs,

    2. "Bedazzle" them into fake microphones for kids' play time, or use them as ribbon bobbins, maybe?

    3. Great ideas:) I'd been trying to think of what to do with the extra rick rack I have, not sure why makers can't put that on rolls, like regular ribbon. Thanks for commenting! Have a nice Saturday!

  5. I've discovered that a lint roller comes in handy for grabbing all those pieces of thread after ripping out a seam!

    1. They certainly do a good job at that, and when I "rip" I usually do it watching a movie, so I keep one near in the LR at all times. Thanks for stopping by!
